As you know, recent imports from foreign manufacturers have caused great harm to Americans.  We have seen, for example, toys covered in lead paint, antifreeze laced toothpaste, and poisonous pet food entering our marketplace.  Just this past February, Cinderella toy cars were bursting into flames while kids were riding on them!  This has to stop.

This legislation will at last allow Americans to hold these manufacturers legally accountable for their actions.  Without accountability, there is no incentive for them to enhance product safety.  Please, cosponsor HR 5913 today – and hold foreign manufacturers to the same product safety standards as U.S. manufacturers.
